Always Be Yourself

Hi! Welcome to my first post for January 2018. I really hope all of you have had a wonderful new year so far.

With a new year, comes change and a new start. I feel like I need to make a big change when it comes to this blog. I want to be able to be 100% myself here, and I felt like I couldn’t be myself before.

I felt like I had to be like every other blogger. I felt like I had to be positive, uplifting, and little miss perfect ALL THE TIME!

And….while I am positive and uplifting 99% of the time, I am NOT perfect, and I am not trying to come off that way either.

So let me start with why I feel it is important to always be yourself.

The number one reason why it is so important to always  be yourself is that sometimes no matter what you do, some people are just not going to accept you. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!!

I have experienced this first hand with many people in my life. Sometimes, family members are our worst critics.

I am not saying, all family members are this way because I have some ride or die relatives that will accept me no matter what I do. I could kill someone, and they would still be like “We’re family girl!”

But there are those people in our lives that will never see the good, but will only focus on the bad. They will bring up the mistakes you made 10 years ago, and it’s like geez I was 15 years old, SORRY!

So the point I am trying to make is be yourself! Never try to be someone you aren’t because you think it is socially acceptable and will make so and so like you. If so and so doesn’t like you now, then they probably never will.

The most important person is YOU! If you love yourself, that is truly all that matters.

So I know what you are thinking, what the heck does this have to do with your blog, right?! EVERYTHING, really!

I want to be able to be myself on here. I want to write when I feel most creative. I want to say whatever it is I want to say without thinking about brands or people not liking my content. There is an unfollow button for a reason, and as much as I want you to stick around, I don’t want to force anyone to read my random thoughts and ramblings.

If you are looking for a blog with a strict uploading schedule, a bunch of meaningless blog posts that are about general information, and lack emotion or personality, then this may not be the blog you are looking to follow.

I want to be able to talk about my shitty day and say it just that way. I want to be like “Hey, I had a shit day! How was yours?”

In the end, if a brand wants to work with a blogger or a reader wants to follow a blog, they are going to do it whether or not you come off as that perfect blogger that follows all the petfect little blogger rules. Not that following all the rules is a bad thing, but it is just not for everyone! I have come to find out that going that route is just not making me happy. We only live once, and it feels so much better to just be ME!

So I guess, what I really want to say is Be Yourself! Whatever you are doing, do it your own way. Do whatever you are doing in a way that makes you happy. You don’t have to be like everyone else to be accepted or successful. People are going to like YOU for YOU!

One last thing…share with me one thing that you love about yourself, that makes you YOU!

Or if you are too shy or can’t think of anything, simply comment,

I am who I am, and I am happy! 💗🙌

Hope this blog post made sense.

We will talk again soon..

Jen 💕

  1. This blog made PERFECT sense! Always being myself is the ONLY thing I’ve always been consistent at. Because I know that the people who accept me into their hearts are people who really accept me and don’t just find my behavior ‘acceptable’ at the time! This is a great post and is in itself very positive and inspiring! Great post!
