Today’s theme is date. I immediately think about my husband when I think of date. Why? Because I still very much date my husband and I think you should too. Here are some things I do that make me feel as if I am still dating my spouse
1. Make sure to take a break.
Take a break from whatever else you have to do. The chores and everything else can wait a few minutes or more. Whatever time you can make for your spouse or partner, make sure you take it.
2. Hold hands.
After being together for 12 years, my husband and I sometimes forget to show each other affection because let’s be honest with our large family, we can both get very busy. But when we are out in public and we hold each other’s hand, it makes me remember why I fell in love with him. So give it a try, if you haven’t already.
3. Say goodnight and good morning with a kiss.
Do you remember that feeling, when you had a huge crush on someone and just couldn’t wait to talk to them? I still get that feeling with my spouse by keeping that spark in the relationship. Get excited and make sure to wake up and go to sleep thankful for that person beside you.
4. Use social media.
Most of us, not all of us, but most of us are on social media a lot. Send your partner a sweet message letting them know that you are thinking of them. Taking the time to let them know they are on your mind can make anyone feel like they are in that dating stage again.
5. Have a nice, quiet dinner together.
A nice meal together, even if it is at home when the kids are in bed, can make it feel like a date. Create a nice, romantic environment with music and candles to make it even more special. Even if you two can plan to do this once a month, this can help your relationship tremendously.
